People with a physical disability, in particular wheelchairs users, have specific needs which conventional clothing doesn’t fulfill. In addition to being aesthetically unappealing, they don’t fit to the seating position.

The lack of specific clothing combined with the existence of physical barriers (difficulty in accessing stores and the absence of adapted cubicles) leads to the use of basic or sports clothing in daily life.

Clothing with functional attributes will respond to this necessity, and benefits not only People with Special Needs but also the people taking care of them, since it helps them in being more autonomous. The fact that they can choose and use (without having to resort to adjustments) clothing updated in terms of fashion trends is, to us, a contribute to an easier social inclusion.

This is the purpose of the project WeAdapt – to provide well-being and quality of life to People with Special Needs through their proposals FashionMe (Casual and “Haute Couture”) and BodyMe. We research and develop solutions since 2005.
